OUR GOAL
The Lina Summer Camp of Music aims to provide an exceptional musical experience to talented young musicians at an affordable cost. Students who pass the audition will gain access to top-quality training.

SUMMER CAMP PERIOD:
Camp A: 14 – 19 July 2025
Camp B: 21 – 26 July 2025
10am - 5pm

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IN EACH CAMP:
Up to 6 students per instrument per camp

REQUIREMENTS

• Age between 10 – 20 years old (Vocal 14 – 22 years old) as of 31 December 2025

• Achieved ABRSM Grade 7 (upload Certificate)

• Curiosity in music

• Hong Kong ID holder will have priority

CAMP LOCATION:
Hong Kong Academy, Sai Kung.
33 Wai Man Road, Sai Kung, New Territories, Hong Kong SAR
*school bus service is available, bus stops at meeting point to be advised.

STUDENT CONCERTS:
Theatre, Hong Kong Academy
Camp A: 18 July 2025, 7:30pm
Camp B: 25 July 2025, 7:30pm

COST:
HKD 6,000 for a 6-day program
*Financial aid is available for student under the Student Financial Assistance Schemes

DEADLINE:
The deadline for Round 2 application is Tuesday, 15 April 2025 at 23:59 Hong Kong Standard Time. Applications that are incomplete at the deadline will not be accepted.
*Video uploads become very crowded just prior to the application deadline and upload times may significantly increase. Uploading early is highly recommended.

CAMP SCHEDULE:
Students may participate in the following:

• Daily workshop

• Masterclass(es)

• Daily Chamber Music Ensemble

• At least 3 Private lessons, number of lesson varies according to instrument

• Student Concert

• Special Activity

INSTRUMENTS:
Students must bring their own instruments. Harp students will be provided with a proper instrument to use during the camp.

MEALS:
Lunches (and dinners on concert day) will be provided by Hong Kong Academy at a student rate.

General repertoire requirements for video and live audition

• Prepare two pieces showcasing musicality and technique.

AUDITION PROCESS

PRELIMINARY ROUND:

• Submit one video limited to 10 minutes: two different periods pieces showcasing musicality and technique.   (audio-only recordings are not accepted).

• Deadline for application:  15 April 2025 at 23:59 Hong Kong Standard Time. Results will be announced until 31 May 2025 by email from Lina Foundation.  If no email is received, check your spam folder or contact us for support info@linafoundation.hk).

RECORDING GUIDELINES:

• Use MP4, MPEG, MOV, or WMV formats.

• Video resolution should be at least 720p for clarity.

• Ensure the candidate and instrument are clearly visible throughout the performance.

• Each video must be less than 1GB.

• Camera position can use landscape or portrait view. The camera should be static with candidate and instrument clearly in view.  The candidate’s face (either facing the camera or in profile) should be visible throughout the performance. Accompanists (if used) should also be in view.  However, the candidate should be the main focus if viewing both is not possible.  It is also important for the jury to be able to hear the candidate and any accompaniment in appropriate balance.

• The candidate can choose where the recording takes place. This can be the candidate’s school, home, their teacher’s studio, or any other location where appropriate space and instruments are available (including piano for any accompaniment).

Important Information for Parents & Guardians

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the Lina Summer Camp of Music 2025! We’re thrilled that your child will be joining us for this exciting musical journey. Please take a moment to review the following information about our camp.

CAMP FEES & ATTENDANCE

• All bookings and payments have been completed – thank you!

• Camp fees are non-refundable as we’ve already committed resources and staffing for your child.

• Unfortunately, we cannot arrange make-up classes for missed sessions due to scheduling constraints.

WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS:

• Camp continues during Typhoon Signal No. 1/3 or Amber Rainstorm warnings.

• Camp suspended if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Red/Black Rainstorm warnings are issued by 8:30 a.m.

• If severe weather develops during the camp, we’ll keep all children safe and contact you for pickup.

• While we understand weather cancellations are disappointing, refunds or replacement sessions cannot be provided.

TRANSPORTATION:

• If your child misses the camp bus, please arrange alternative transport to the venue.

• Transportation reimbursements are not available.
  

OUR TEACHING TEAM:

• Occasionally, we may arrange qualified substitute instructors due to unforeseen circumstances.

• Rest assured, all substitutes will be equally qualified and passionate about music education!

PHOTOS & VIDEOS:

• We love capturing memories! Photos and videos will be taken for our internal documentation and archives. These materials help us preserve wonderful moments.

• If you prefer your child not be photographed, please notify us in writing 48 hours before camp starts.

HEALTH & SAFETY:
Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies or special needs.

• In emergencies, we’ll contact you immediately and seek appropriate medical care.

• All medical information will be kept strictly confidential.

OUR CAMP COMMUNITY:

• We welcome all children regardless of background, ability or beliefs.

• Should any challenges arise, we’ll work together with you to find the best solution.
