VIOLIN
Biography
Bartosz Zachlod is a Polish violinist, born in 1983. He graduated with honors from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and continued studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, as well as at the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA).
In 2006, he was awarded the First Prize at the 6th International Karol Szymanowski Violin Competition in Łódź, where he also received the Special Prize for the best interpretation of a work by Szymanowski.
He is a member of the renowned Apollon Musagète String Quartet, which in 2008 achieved exceptional success at the 57th ARD International Music Competition in Munich, winning the First Prize as well as nearly all Special Prizes.
Zachlod has appeared on many of the world’s leading stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Wigmore Hall in London, the Tonhalle Zürich, and the Musée du Louvre in Paris. He has also performed at prominent festivals such as the Edinburgh International Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, and the Chopin and his Europe Festival in Warsaw.
Alongside his intensive activity as a chamber musician and soloist, Bartosz also serves as the leader of the second violin section of NDR Radiophilharmonie Orchestra.
