General Information

Little Friends Music Discovery offers a supportive and engaging environment for children to explore various musical instruments in an inspiring environment amidst the scenic natural surroundings of Sai Kung. The children develop creativity, feel the beauty of arts, participate in a music ensembles and learn teamwork through other group activities.

Key Information:

  • Date: 15 - 25 July 2026

  • Venue: Hong Kong Academy, Sai Kung

  • Activities: Explore instruments

  • (Percussion, Chinese drum, harp and others), Music Ensemble, Dance, Creative Arts, Music and Science, Performance

  • Up to 24 students (12 max per class)

Student Requirements:

  • Age between 4 - 7 years old as of 31 December 2026

  • Curiosity in music

  • Priority to Hong Kong ID holders

Final Concert

25 July 2026, 11am: Final Concert at Theatre, Hong Kong Academy, Sai Kung; followed by Lunch Reception in the Grand Ballroom at WM Hotel, Sai Kung.

Cost

All costs of Little Friends – Summer Academy 2026 will be borne by Lina Foundation.

Daily Schedule

Creative Arts, Dance and Music Appreciation

10:00 – 10:50

Music Ensemble: Playing instruments (Baby Harp, Xylophones and others)

11:00 – 11:50

Music Ensemble: Fun with Chinese Drums and Percussion

12:00 – 12:50

*Bus Service provided between designated MTR stations of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories and Hong Kong Academy, Sai Kung

**10-minute-snack breaks between lessons (please provide 2 portions of snacks for children)

Audition Requirements

Deadline: 1 March 2026

Video recording required (up to 10 minutes): one slow and one virtuous piece of two different periods showcasing musicality and technique.

  • RECORDING GUIDELINES:

    • Use MP4, MPEG, MOV, or WMV formats.

    • Video resolution should be at least 720p for clarity.

    • Ensure the candidate and instrument are clearly visible throughout the performance

    • Each video must be less than 1GB

    • Camera position can use landscape or portrait view. The camera should be static with candidate and instrument clearly in view.  The candidate’s face (either facing the camera or in profile) should be visible throughout the performance. Accompanists (if used) should also be in view. However, the candidate should be the main focus if viewing both is not possible.  It is also important for the jury to be able to hear the candidate and any accompaniment in appropriate balance

    • The candidate can choose where the recording takes place. This can be the candidate’s school, home, their teacher’s studio, or any other location where appropriate space and instruments are available (including piano for any accompaniment)

  3. Prepare early to avoid upload delays close to the deadline.

  • Dear Parents and Guardians,

    Welcome to the Little Friends Music Discovery 2026! We’re thrilled that your child will be joining us for this exciting musical journey. Please take a moment to review the following information about our academy.

    ACADEMY FEES & ATTENDANCE

    • All costs of Little Friends Music Discovery 2026 will be borne by Lina Foundation Limited.

    • Unfortunately, we cannot arrange make-up classes for missed sessions due to scheduling constraints.


    WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS:

    • Academy continues during Typhoon Signal No. 1/3 or Amber Rainstorm warnings.

    • Academy suspended if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Red/Black Rainstorm warnings are issued by 8:30 a.m.

    • If severe weather develops during the academy, we’ll keep all children safe and contact you for pickup.

    • While we understand weather cancellations are disappointing, replacement sessions cannot be provided.

    TRANSPORTATION:

    • If your child misses the academy bus, please arrange alternative transport to the venue.

    • Transportation reimbursements are not available.

    OUR TEACHING TEAM:

    • Occasionally, we may arrange qualified substitute instructors due to unforeseen circumstances.

    • Rest assured, all substitutes will be equally qualified and passionate about music education!

    PHOTOS & VIDEOS:

    • We love capturing memories! Photos and videos will be taken for our internal documentation and archives. These materials help us preserve wonderful moments.

    • If you prefer your child not be photographed, please notify us in writing 48 hours before the academy starts.

    HEALTH & SAFETY:

    Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies or special needs.

    • In emergencies, we’ll contact you immediately and seek appropriate medical care.

    • All medical information will be kept strictly confidential.
