Biography

Stefan Plewniak is a Polish conductor and violinist. He is a conductor of the Orchestre de l’Opera Royale Versailles, in France and former music director of the Warsaw Chamber Opera in Poland. The founder and musical director of the Il Giardino d'Amore orchestra and Cappella dell'Ospedale della Pietà.

Stefan Plewniak is also the founder of the exclusive record label Ëvoe Records which has received the attention and recognition of prestigious international magazines and radio stations.

As a conductor and violinist, he acquired the reputation of "master of emotional chemistry", "hurricane on stage”.

In 2025 he received a prestigious prize „Fryderyk” for the best Album of the year. He was invited to make a series of CD and DVD recordings for Versailles Label, with concert, opera and baller productions. In the season 2025 there is multiple projects and tours planned with Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra including tour in South Korea, China, Vietnam, USA, Canada, as well new recordings and appearances in Versailles Opera European Festivals.

This year he made sevaral interesting projects with his orchestra Il Giardino d'Amore. CD and Video in Venice dedicated to 300 years of the Vivaldi 4 Seasons. Bach CD and concerts in Leipzing and Gliwice. And presentation of the 2 new programs with Jakub Orliński and Alex Debicz, and Aphrodite Patoulidou at the Festival "Break in Classic". As well as new presentation of the program with Opera Versailles with Sonya Yoncheva in Santander Festival and Franco Fagioli and Julia Lezhneva in Bayreuth Festival recorded for „ARTE" and „ADR” Klassik.

In 2024 he made his debut as a conductor and soloist with the orchestra of the Venice Opera „La Fenice”, and made debut as a conductor and soloist in the Vienna Konzerthaus. He was also invited as a guest conductor and soloist to the Navarra Symphony Orchestra. He made successful concert tour with Opera Royal Versailles as a soloist and conductor in Asia giving 12 concerts in major venues. He recorded 3 CD’s : 2 for Versailles Label one for Evoe Records and released CD for Warner label. He made also broadcast for the France TV with Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra. In the season 2024 there was two opera productions with Versailles Royal Opera, debut in Capitole de Touluse and invitation from San Carlo Opera in Naples.

In 2023 he conducted the opera production of Zingarelli - Romeo & Juliette with Franco Fagioli and Adele Charvet with the Versailles Royal Orchestra. He conducted as well the Christmas Concert o with Sonya Yoncheva, and he prepared the new Ballet production by Malandain Ballet Biarritz & Versailles Royal Orchestra called „Les Saisons”.

In 2023 he conducted in Warsaw National Philharmony and Stettin Philharmony and recorded Orfeo and Euridice opera by Gluck for the Warner Label, with Jakub Josef Orlinski, Elsa Dreisig, Fatma Said as soloists and Il Giardino d’Amore orchestra and choir. He went on tour to South Korea with L’Orchestre de l’Opera Royale Versailles.In 2022 he conducted the Malandain Ballet Biarritz production „Marie Antoinette” in Versailles Opera and recorded Haydn Symphonies „Les Heures du jour”.He appeared as a guest conductor in Cracow Philharmony, Lodz Philharmony, and Warsaw Chamber Opera in Poland. His orchestra Il Giardino d’Amore was invited to be a residence ensemble of the Julian Cochran Foundation where they performed a series of 12 concerts. He conducted concert series with NOR59 in Oslo Norway with Rachmaninoff 2nd Symphony, Mozart Requiem, Tchaikovsky 5th Symphony, and The Nutcracker Ballet. With Jakub Jozef Orlinski and Il Giardino d’Amore he went on European Tour performing in Poland, France, Italy.

In 2021 Plewniak toured in Spain with the soloist Jakub Józef Orliński and the Il Giardino d'Amore ensemble. That year he made several fascinating recording projects with L’Orchestre de l’Opera Royale Versailles for the publishing house of Versailles, among others:

Zingarelli - „Giulietta ed Romeo” opera for the 250 years Anniversary of Napoleon, with participation of Franco Fagoli, the „3 Countertenors” CD with Valer Sabadus, Filippo Mineccia and Samuel Marino, as well as Vivaldi „Concert di Parigi”. This year he has also recorded J-M. Leclair - „Scylla ed Glaucus” with Mathias Vidal, Chiara Skerath, Florie Valiquette and Il Giardino d’Amore orchestra and choir.

In 2020, Plewniak conducted the Versailles Opera Orchestra in a concert for the TV "France 5" with the participation of the pop singer "MIKA", and invited soloists such as Gautier Capuçon or J.J.Orliński.

In 2020 conducted Rameau „Castor ed Pollux” in Warsaw Chamber Opera. 2019 Stefan Plewniak conducted in Warsaw Chamber Opera production of Gluck - Orfeo ed Euridice, Mozart - Magic Flute for the Opera Studio in Oslo.

In June 2019, he conducted the opening gala at the XXIX Warsaw International Mozart Festival. Also in June, he was invited by the Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra during the Mayshad Festival in Marrakech. In the fall of 2019, he conducted the opera Carmen on tour in Norway. He was invited to conduct the ballet "Marie Antoinette" at the Opera Royale Versailles.

In 2018, he released a new Handel CD - Enemies in Love, which was in the TOP 8 of the best-selling classic albums in the World. Another recording awaiting release in the winter of 2021 is Mendelssohn's Album with Violin Concerto op 64 and Symphony No. 4 “Italian”.

In 2017-2018, Mr. Plewniak directed the “rarity” Rameau - production of opera ballet - Naïs, including two semi-staged performances for the 25th Opera Nova Festival and the Warsaw National Philharmonic. Mr. Plewniak was also invited to Oslo to conduct three symphonic and oratorio programs including Mozart Requiem with Sølvguttene, Dvorak / Tchaikovsky with Eldbjørg Hemsing as a soloist, making his debut at the Oslo Philharmonic. He also gave a solo recital during the Actus Humanus Festival in Gdansk where he is coming back with the recital in December 2021.

During the 2016-2017 season, Mr. Plewniak was on tour with Il Giardino d’Amore in China, performing in Beijing and Wuhan. He also released two CDs - The Heart of Europe with Polish music, and went on a promotional tour to the United States giving concerts and masterclasses in Chicago, NYC, San Diego CA. Another album, Carnevale de Venezia, featured great artists like countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, Miriam Albano and Natalia Kawalek. In 2015-2016, Mr. Plewniak made his debut as a conductor and soloist at the Carnegie Hall and the Mozarteum. In private life he is husband and father of 3 kids. He is also brand ambassador of the „Klarif” skincare company from California, modeling for the „Post Archive Faction” from Seoul, and „Jakob Hetzer” exclusive trademark from L.A.
