Biography
With over 15 years of experience in the field of education, teaching was not Lam’s original career path. After graduating from the UK with a degree in Interior Architecture and Design, Lam embarked on her professional journey with various design projects in London before returning to her roots in Hong Kong in 2009.
Upon her repatriation to Hong Kong, Lam transitioned to an educational role at one of the city's prestigious international schools. Here, she seamlessly connected her artistic creativity with educational innovation, actively engaging in various school-wide performances to foster creativity in arts, singing, choreography, and acting. This dynamic involvement laid a solid foundation for her future endeavors, showcasing her ability to infuse creativity into education.
Following this, Lam was selected by former CBBC presenter Ana Bennett to undergo specialised training to become a storyteller, imparting the magic of narratives through the art of children's literature. This experience enhanced her storytelling finesse, enabling her to captivate audiences and evoke emotions through compelling narratives. It also deepened her understanding of the impact of storytelling in connecting with diverse audiences and effectively conveying messages.
In 2016, Lam took on a role at an inquiry-based playgroup where she spent the next seven years. Lam assumed the role of Programme Director overseeing the school's operations. Witnessing the school community evolve from a handful of students to over 100 families, and observing children thrive and flourish, proved to be a gratifying experience for Lam.
Being a lifelong learner, Lam completed a Postgraduate degree in Education and gained valuable insights into the demands of educational programs and international student needs. She furthered her studies and earned a certification in Principalship as well as a Master's in Management, expanding her leadership skills and influence. Lam’s commitment to providing expertise in pedagogical approaches, paired with familiarity with different curricula, makes her a valuable asset in early years education settings. Currently, Lam works as a consultant, collaborating with children, teachers, caregivers, and schools to enhance the educational experience for all involved.
